Intercessory prayers are powerful prayers that can have a large effect on the speakers' life, as well as those on whose behalf the prayers are spoken. Intercession prayers have the ability to change lives, and to redirect them towards more suitable goals and paths. This is particularly the case when a person wants to change, but is having difficulty in recognizing how to do so.



The prayer of intercession is frequently perceived to be answered, as any prayer of intercession calls upon God's will. Through intercessory prayer we speak to God as though He is our friend, and it allows us to have a deeper relationship with God the Father, and our Lord Jesus. Because of this intimate relationship, we are able to act as mediators between God and those upon whose behalf we are praying. We can therefore advocate and mediate on their behalf through our prayers of intercession.



Prayers of intercession can be informally spoken, but a number of formal prayers can be found within The Bible for those who prefer to follow formal prayers. A number of formal and well-known prayers are also freely available online, and can be downloaded and distributed for use in prayer.
